Vimba Alarm Systems
Vimba offers a wide range of burglar alarms or intrusion detection systems. All alarm systems are linked directly to our monitoring centre, giving us instant notification should unwanted intruders enter the premises.
Alarm systems can include motion detectors, door and window contacts, glass break detectors and cameras, all of which can activate an alarm, depending on the solution you choose.
How The System Works
The Vimba alarm system is made up of various components, all linked, either through a hardwired network, or by means of wireless technology, to the system command panel. This panel, with its keypad, is the "brain" of the system, linked to our control centre, and is where you input commands to the system. Connected to this control panel, the various types of peripheral devices monitor the integrity of your security perimeter.
Component Types
The types of peripherals that are installed will depend on the system that you choose. They range from magnetic contacts for doors and windows, to glass break detectors, and passive infra-red detectors.
Passive infra-red detectors are one of the most popular components. These volumetric space covering detectors are triggered by a rapid change in ambient temperature, and can cover large areas inside a home, office or factory. Although they are not suitable for windy or outdoor environments, a number of specialised units designed for specialised applications are also available.
Glass break detectors can be installed to protect vulnerable windows, while outdoor beams can be placed at strategic points to provide an early warning of approaching intruders. Another common component are the magnetic contacts which trigger an alarm when doors or windows are opened.
Finally, fixed panic buttons can be installed throughout the premises, to allow for manual activation of the alarm in case of personal attack or emergency.
All these devices are linked to the control panel by cables or wireless transmitters. When an alarm is triggered by one of the components, internal and / or external sirens sound, while an optional external strobe light gives our armed response teams a visual confirmation of the alarm source.
